Classes and More Classes!

So many classes, so much fun! Be sure to reserve you spot in the classes of your choice. Just call Knitting Temptations at 614/ 734.0618 and we’ll save a seat for you.

Beginning Spinning

A fun, friendly and relaxed beginning spinning class designed for wheel AND/OR spindle spinners. Rusty Spinners who need a refresher are welcome, too. We discuss types of sheep, fleeces, processing and fibers. You learn about and practice both spindle and wheel spinning. Then concentrate on the one you prefer to create your own yarn. Ninety-eight % of the information pertains to either technique. If you have tools or a wheel please bring them but do not buy them, we have wheels and spindles to use and purchase, if you choose.
$50 class fee includes class materials.

Spin In

Bring your wheels, spindles, and some fiber and join us for this FREE event. No stress, no chores, no lessons, just spinning, talking and seeing what everyone is working on. We would love to see your “show and tell!” Bring some snacks if you like. If it’s a nice day we’ll open the doors and spin inside and out.
$50 class fee.

Easy Cricket Weaving

Learn to weave the easy way with a Cricket loom. Warp a loom and weave a scarf in a day. Bring a pair scissors and 8 ft. of craft/wrapping paper or 10 sheets of plain copy paper. Please arrive early to select yarn for your project. Weaving is a great stash buster and quick!
$50 class fee includes yarn for weaving.

Beginning Knitting

Now is the perfect time to learn the basics of knitting: casting on/binding off, knitting/purling, increasing/decreasing, and checking your gauge. We loan needles and yarn to practice in your first class. You’ll be ready to knit a beautiful scarf! Please select the class time that fits your schedule. $25 class, supplies included.

Finishing School

Any Unfinished Objects (UFOs) in your project pile? Bring them to the shop and we will help you sew those seams, weave in those ends, pick up the stitches. During the summer, we are offering four opportunities to learn these techniques and complete a project at NO CHARGE. Please make a reservation by calling the shop.

Fixing Mistakes

If you think you’re the only one to make that mistake you are mistaken! We used knitters’ most common mistakes and built a class around them. TInking?? Frogging?? Learn to read your knitting and fix dropped and twisted stitches. Please bring light colored worsted weight yarn. $15 class fee.

Abstract Yarn Tasting

On a lovely June evening, more than 85 fabulous knitters gathered to taste beautiful handpainted yarns and meet designer Susan Stambaugh owner of Abstract Fibers. Each guest received a “take-out” box which container 8 different samples of yarn and a special stitch marker made by Karen Royce, a special Knitting Temptations knitter.
